I had a major problem that my super and the exterminator hired by building management weren't able to resolve. It's been such a painful, gross problem. Between Leah, the General Manager, and my technician, Tito, I feel such relief. Leah was so patient in explaining the process and setting expectations. Tito took his time and thoroughly inspected my whole apartment. Dealing with rodents is unpleasant to say the least, but they provided such great service.

NO. You for sure do not even want to waste ur time contacting this business very unprofessional & a worker even threatened me at one point. I highly suggest just use the next service closest, this business is not worth the hassle & threats it comes with if they don't get you to spend money with them. This company is great. I had a mice infestation in my NYC apartment and there were rodent droppings everywhere in my kitchen. It was disgusting and other pest control companies could not find the source of the problem. Leah the office manager was very patient and kind on the phone and suggested that the problem may be coming from behind the dishwasher.
When a technician from PPC came to my apartment, he found an enormous crack in the baseboard behind the dishwasher and located the source of the problem. The technician was very knowledgable and explained how mice and rats enter apartments and sealed the holes in my bathroom and bedroom. PPC also offered a 90 day warranty and promised they would treat my apartment again if I had another issue with rodents.

My experience with this company was excellent, after searching for an exterminator service many were to pricey or had no knowledge about how to eradicate my problem. When I found this company based on the reviews I called Ben. He was so informative and knowledgeable about my situation. He answered all my questions and the fact that he has been in this profession for 20 years really made me feel he knew what to do. William the exterminator was also very professional, he encouraged me to ask him any questions I had. This company is professional, honest and punctual. Called because we had a rat roaming behind our walls. They charged me for 2 floors, but they did nothing for the second floor except walking around and checking radiators. The exterminator was pleasant and put rat poison, food and glue traps. This did nothing. End result: we chased the rat out of our apartment ourselves. Nothing the exterminator did helped. The rat seemed lively and healthy and did not seem to be irritated by the poison that I payed $$$ for. What is worse, I received no follow up from the company as promised.

The owner phoned within an hour to confirm what I thought and provide detailed helpful information on what to do to solve the problem. (Stuff that just wasn't available from a good search; I tried.) They were very understanding about my problem, and sent a team in a matter of one hour. They did everything they could to close the holes. They also found a rat nest in the process, and got rid of them for good. No bad odor, or anything like that (unlike what the other company did). I'm really satisfied with the service. The overall experience was more than positive.

Ben and Charles were great. I called late night, a bit frantic and they were able to arrange an appointment for me the next day. Turns out a squirrel was able to gain access to my apartment. Arranged for mouse traps for my daughter in NYC. Was thrilled with the fast and courteous service received. The owner Ben and the technician Darnell were both extremely professional, friendly and accommodating. Called on Saturday and they came out on Sunday morning! Highly recommend. This is my second time using Positive Pest Management. The first time I used them I had seen one roach in my apartment, it was around 12AM and Benett was up responding to me and sent someone out the next morning. The technician reassured me that I definitely did not have an infestation, but he sprayed and treated to make sure it wouldn't happen.
After he treated, I never saw another bug my entire time of living there (2 years). I recently moved into a larger apartment building and truly had a roach issue. I saw around 70 within my first week of living here. The management claimed they didn't know there was an issue because no one was living in the apartment before me (since March). The building exterminator told me he couldn't move any of my appliances, therefore he wasn't finding the true source of the issue.
I called Benett to come treat my apartment and he sent someone out the next day. Yohan came and found many many holes under my sink, behind my fridge, behind my stove, in my closets where there is piping, and around my door. He closed up all of those holes, put down bait in every room, and sprayed the entire apartment. After he sprayed, I found about 7 or 8 roaches dead on the floor (good sign).
Throughout the week, I was in constant conversation with Benett. I was texting him pictures of what I was seeing and explaining the ongoing issue and he sent someone out right away when it was time for a re-treatment. The technician (forgive me, I forgot his name) came and re-checked every single area in my apartment for holes and nests. He found another hole above my door, where the wiring for my WiFi comes in.
Up there he also saw some roach droppings, which is a sign that this could be where they were coming in from. He quickly shoved brillo in the hole and sealed it with silicone. He then told us he was going to spray something (very strong) in every crack and crevice to make sure we are getting everything out. My boyfriend and I left the apartment for about 2 hours to make sure the smell was gone.
When we came back, we saw 3 dead on the floor (hoping this is the last of them). While the tech was here, Benett was in constant conversation with me asking me how it was going. I feel confident that this did the trick, but even if it didn't, I know that they will return and keep returning until the issue is solved. I am an extreme clean and neat freak and these guys truly put my mind at ease. Will continue to use their services if needed in the future.

I was just going to let it go, but I just got a text to write a review so here we are. We had a pantry moth problem in our last apartment that was really terrible. Ben was very knowledgeable and all of the exterminators who came out to help (four of them!) were very friendly and helpful. Unfortunately communication was terrible. We were told that the problem would be totally taken care of after the first treatment, but we arrived home to tons of moths and then were given the cold shoulder for reaching out again.
We were told one thing by the exterminator, and another by the girl at the front desk. We were actually told we were lying at one point. The story kept changing as to why we still had dozens of moths flying around our home. I knew that the problem could be coming from someone else's apartment, but again was told that it wouldn't be an issue.
That exterminating our apartment would still take care of the problem, regardless. We didn't have any pantry food in our home for months. Needless to say, we never got rid of the problem and $600 later, we wound up having to move. The picture I'm including was after we had already had four treatments. Very stressful.

I hired Positive Pest last fall to help me exterminate bird mites. While they eventually did help me get rid of them (on the second extermination in the 90 day window), which I am grateful for, the service and communication throughout was strangely unprofessional and unclear for a place with so many positive reviews here on Yelp. Overall, working with Positive Pest on my bird mite problem increased my own anxiety during a period of my life that was already a nightmare.
The worst part was that the main office provided confusing instructions and was often defensive when I asked for clarification and support. I know bird mites are one of the most difficult pests to treat--but I had hoped for more clarity and empathy from Positive Pest. So much of pest infestation is an ongoing mental burden that can last for months, so clear expectations and understanding communication should not be undervalued. I'm writing this now, 7 months later, because I'm starting to get bites again, so I'm unsure if my first engagement with Positive Pest was even effective.

They are very prompt and responsive in scheduling appointments. Nice staff and very personable. Unfortunately it just wasn't what I expected and ultimately I personally don't feel it's worth the rates charged. I admit that this partially my fault for not doing more homework to be more informed of what to expect. That being said the rates are very competitive with other services to be fair.
My gripe is that even competitive pricing is still expensive in my mind for mainly consultation. This is a criticism of the industry at large and not specific to this company. The technician was a consummate professional but at the end of the day I don't think ANY exterminator services (outside of what a building management company can offer) are worth the cost because of the limitations of what external exterminators can do without contracting abilities.
Again I will emphasize this is not a condemnation of Positive Pest specifically and certainly not Bennie who again is a class act all around - this is more just a PSA for others hopeful that outside exterminators will go above and beyond to eliminate all sources of the problems at hand - you should know unlike me that this is not what you will get.
I learned through my experiences that there is only so much they can do and most of it you can do yourself for a fraction of what they the charge albeit not as efficiently but for me personally I would rather do the extra work myself next time and save the money. Otherwise they are very understanding and if you want someone to check for entry points and place traps, and use a foam gun on any exposed piping you should give them a shot just know that the service will cost a considerable amount more than just doing it yourself. If you have the extra cash and don't have the time to do it yourself these folks will take care of you.

Exceptional! 3 days before leaving for a vacation I saw a little mouse running through my apartment. I called Terminex who made me wait a total of 7 hours to have a walk through and then the exterminator didn't even show up the next day! I saw the amazing reviews of Positive Pest and called in a panic with one day left before I had to leave. Ben sent Bennie over to my place immediately. Benny was incredible and professional, he explained everything to me including preventative measures.

I had a very good experience with this company. They responded immediately and were available to come the same day. The exterminator was very nice, helpful and professional. I felt he was very good at informing me about all the procedures he was going to undertake (I had mice in my apartment) and after filling holes under the sink with foam and metal fabric he also put traps everywhere and told me I had 90 days to contact them again should I see any other 'intruder' in the apartment. I would highly recommend this company!

So I've been getting bit in my apartment for over a month. At first I thought it was mosquitoes, but then I realized there were no mosquitos in sight. So my second guess were bird mites since I've pigeons chillin on my AC, on the regular (hey, it's New York City). I got on yelp and searched for exterminators who have had experience with eradicating bird mites in the past and Positive Pest Management came up.
After reading the rave reviews I decided to give them a call and I'm glad I did. They were super knowledgeable and quick. The next day, I had an exterminator come and check the apartment out. He couldn't find anything right away, so he left a few sticky traps on the floor. A few days later I found some sort of bug stuck on the trap, and it turned out to be a B.B not a BM!
The next day I had Ben (the exterminator) come over (on a SUNDAY)and exterminate my apartment. Ben answered ALL my questions (I had many), and I quickly felt rest assured. Thank you PPM for your services. You guys are awesome!

I called Positive Pest Management this morning upon discovering mice droppings in the bathroom of my new apartment. The dispatcher called me back within an hour, and told me he'd be sending an exterminator over as soon as possible. Larry arrived a few hours later, after politely calling to let us know he'd be a little bit late. He is by far the best and most knowledgeable exterminator I've encountered, and I've lived in New York City for the past twenty years. if you have a pest problem, call PPM and ask for Larry - he's awesome!

They did use steam on the coach, but they soaked our bedroom with poison, and barely grunted when we asked for explanations. We had to have them come back twice, since they did such a bad job.
This time around I was determined to get someone better, and positive pest came recommended by another exterminator. The guy who came was courteous and explained everything. He was extremely through, and sprayed in all crevices. When he was all done, the apartment was cleaner than when he came in, because he swept and vacuumed, too! I also really liked the list of what we had to do, that really helped us to prepare, and has been invaluable in educating our downstairs tenants in how to avoid getting the bedbugs back again.

Ben, the owner, called and said he will see what he could do as they are real backed up. My error, I didn't called till late afternoon.
