Within a month of moving to San Diego I saw a pretty large cockroach in my new rental. Not wanting to take any chances, my landlord had Joshua's Pest Control stop by to assess. They scheduled a home visit within 2 days of calling and were very thorough in their questions and assessment. Thomas and Carlos did my home visit and helped discern I had seen an American Cockroach (the kind that doesn't want to infest - yay!) and put down some gel bait around the perimeter. They were very helpful and knowledgeable. I appreciate the promptness of service and the information they provided as well. Thank you Joshua's Pest Control!

We love Joshua's Pest Control! We contacted them more than a year ago for an ant problem. They were able to control the ants quickly and efficiently. Once the ants were under control and noticed we then had a rat and spider problems Joshua's was able to address those as well. We especially love that they provide complimentary extermination services between the regular quarterly maintenance!
They are very courteous and professional each time they come to the property and are able to identify the problems and come up with a plan on how to tackle the pests! We are incredibly happy with their services and would recommend them to anyone in need of an exterminator!

This service is great! The technician showed up on time, did a thorough treatment of our property both inside and out, answered all our questions, and explained the whole process! It was also super quick! She had to have been here for like 30 minutes max. I definitely would recommend this service to others. I have used Joshua pest Control for a couple of years on a rental property and have been very pleased with the service. Recently we found a Issue at my mom's property and called them for help. Mom doesn't like to use pest services because she's afraid they'll hurt her plants or her animals but after some very patient reassurance from her now favorite service technician, Thomas She is a huge fan of Joshua's pest control!
He was so pleasant inspected the whole property and proceeded to take care of the problem. She wants Thomas on every service call now. I always thought Joshua's had great customer service and response times, this time thanks to Thomas the service was over and above. I highly recommend this company!

My first impression of this business was great, beginning when I first spoke on the phone to the schedulers. I spoke with two different ladies, both very friendly and eager to get me immediate help with my pest problem. Zack and James came out within 24 hours to help us figure out why we were getting bitten by bugs. They were patient, thorough, professional, and knowledgable.
I am confident that no matter what pest problem I have in the future, they can help me with it. This business came highly recommended on the app Nextdoor and I'm glad I called them!

We had the wonderful opportunity of meeting James and Zach this evening. They did an amazing job, not only with spraying our home but educating us on the pest we were dealing with. The two of them were very personable and really made there mark with us, we are new to San Diego and finding new services can be a bit daunting but Joshua's pest control really exceeded with their services. We will continue to use joshua's pest control services.

We have always been happy with Joshua's. Great service and super responsive. This latest visit was for a specific ant invasion in our backyard. Thomas and Amanda discovered and treated multiple colonies and perhaps even more important is they took the time to explain everything. The technician inspected ants, spider, mice. He sprayed some liquid to kill ants but safe for my plants and animals. He explained everything before doing. If a salesman comes knocking on your door to try and sell you their services, IGNORE them and call someone else. They're quick to sell you a service, but they're unreliable and unprofessional. In my opinion if you set up an appointment and you tell your customer that you plan to be there at a certain time, you show up on time. If you promise your client that you will call them before arriving, you CALL them.

I normally do not respond to door to door sales people, but Collin was such a respectful and non-pushy sales guy that I gave him the chance to tell me what service they can do, since we are new to the area (since Sept 2021), and we had not found an extermination company yet. Too many other priorities right now. But Collin was very professional and easy to talk with.
No pressure sales at all, and after listening for a short while, I was willing to give these guys a chance. The price seems very reasonable compared to prior extermination services I have used in other states and they were offering a discount for the initial service. Today, Peyton came out to do the initial service inside and outside the house. Super nice and also very respectful guy.
Also enjoyed talking with him. He was thorough with the service and covered all three floors of our home quickly and politely. He wore shoe covers and made sure to not let any of our 5 cats slip out the doors. I won't know how well their treatment works for a few weeks, but so far, very pleased with this company and the reps they send out!

Terrible pest control company! A sales person showed up at my door and pretended to be my entire neighborhood is their customers. They're selling you a trial one time service with $99 and after they charge you $139 automatically per visiting. Then they charge you every time without the notifications. When you call to ask what is going on, they just say no problem we will cancel you out but you have to pay for next visit due to the contract even if i don't want the service anymore.
No real pest control was ever done. They just have walked around my house with the cobweb duster for 2min and disappeared without any explanation. I feel like completely wasted my money and scammed.

Josh's Pest Service is the best in his field of services. His techs are always on time, they never overcharge you for things you don't need, and they do a wonderful job. They even came back and set traps for mice we had and drain flys that are soooo annoying for FREE! My two arms give Josh's Pest Service two BIG thumbs up! We have had the best experience with Joshua's Pest Control so far. We did a lot of research prior and chose Joshua's based off of a referral. James and Raul were on-time, friendly, and professional. I have been using Joshua's for a few months and the pest control services have been fine but I'm going to cancel after almost getting scammed on the "free termite inspection." I was told I have MAJOR damage (he checked the basement for a total of 3 minutes) and needed to sign up for treatment which would cost $2,700 but since I have been a "loyal customer" he dropped it to $2,200.
When I still wouldn't sign up for the service, he told me that he could call his manager to see if they could go down to $1,800. He explained that there is such a severe termite problem that I needed to sign up that day and if I didn't, I wouldn't get that discount that he was able to offer me. I kept telling him that I was skeptical of the situation - given the fact that he barely spent anytime looking for termites and that he was able to lower the price so much and finally had to ask him to leave.
He wouldn't leave - he just kept asking me if I knew how severe this was & telling me I needed to treat it immediately because the termites were in the house and causing more damage by the minute. After a certain point, I had enough of his condescending tone & politely kicked him out. A few days after this inspection, I had another company come out and it turns out that I do not even have active termites!
There was damage from termites but it had already been fixed by the previous owners and the house had been treated. I am not sure what the rep from Joshua's saw but there are definitely no active termites in or around the house and I am very glad I didn't sign that contract! If this happens to you, call Gunter Pest & Lawn - they were extremely nice and seemed much more professional/knowledgeable.

I've used Joshua's services for almost 9 years and have mostly loved them. Their customer services has been next to none and they've been incredibly reliable. I've referred numerous friends and family to them and have proactively reached out to managers to share positive feedback. I'm not sure what may be going on more recently, though, or if I've just had bad luck, but in November I had a scheduled quarterly service and received an email stating it had been completed.
The email listed what the technician had done, but no service was completed that day. At the time there were two adults and four dogs home so no chance that someone had been on the property without anyone noticing. After going back and forth over the phone, they figured out/admitted that the tech had NOT actually been to my house. Frustrating, but after years of good service, I let it go.
I had my next quarterly service scheduled for just yesterday, and once again I received a notice that it had been completed when NO ONE had been to my home! I'd been home all day and have a very reactive dog who does not miss visitors, so unless this guy was a ninja, there's no way we both would have missed him. When they called me to follow up the tech had told them that he knocked on the door and rang the bell.also not possible as I would have heard, and my dog would have gone nuts (annoying, yes, but helpful).
I don't like feeling like having to police these kinds of things (I was on alert all day for the tech), but trust has most definitely been broken. I'm giving 4 stars for years of great service, but not sure if I plan to stay.

Stay away from this company! They are sending a sales person from door to door, selling you a trial one time service and after they charge your credit card, they automatically sign you up. The signature is not for the one time service, its an annual contract. Be aware! The guy is just giving you a screen for signature and telling this is for today's service.
Then they charge you every month and when you call to ask what is going on, they say "no problem we will cancel you out". Early cancellation fee is $119. these people are scam. My neighbors had same thing. The other neighbors signed up for contract voluntarily. No spiders were removed. They have stayed 3 min on site. No explanation. Just come and go!

My boyfriend hired Joshua's Pest Control for a stinkbug problem. The service helped, but did not solve the issue. We still had them in and around the house. However when we moved out of that house, he tried to cancel the service. They told him that the cancellation fee would be more than having a final service call, so he agreed to one final service call at our new address.
After that, the service was supposed to be cancelled. They have returned two more times, even after being turned away upon arrival, and are still trying to charge us. We have asked for the service to be cancelled 3 times and they still will not stop. This has been going on for 6 months.

I signed up for services with Joshuah including mice control. The last time they were out I told them we were still having problems with mice in our basement. Their solution was treatment of the outside of our home nothing on the inside of our home. Last week we woke to no water in our house. After consulting a plumber and a well gut we found the reason we had no water was mice had chewed through the wiring so there was no electricity going to the pump.
This information and repair cost us $880.00. The supervisor offered me a return treatment and a $40 coupon towards our next treatment. I am beyond angry and will not be renewing.

Worst company I dealt with in 2021. This pest control took care of my home for 3+ years. One day they stopped by to do a complimentary termite inspection. Fast forward the rep that day expressed my need ring of their bait stations. I was not ready to commit to such an investment ($1,600 ) right then and there. The rep then made promises that apparently were all lies.
He told me that I could pay for it and have 3 months (90 days) to see if I can get a better deal anywhere else. He also promised to beat out any other competitor. With all the promises and safety of having the option of canceling I decided to go for it. Lies, Lies, LIES. I called a month later asking to just be put on the monthly option rather than paying the year in full.
I then was told I couldn't because it was paid for already. So I asked to cancel the current agreement (that I was told I had 90 days on) and sign a new agreement with monthly payments. I was told no. How? Your rep came in and made promises to me which I had guest over also who heard the speech. The manager said he would look into and talk to his rep.
Two weeks later I got call back saying that he talked to his rep and reminded him that he can't be saying that, but that he couldn't refund me for the bait stations. Although that is what his company came to my house and said to me. I was beyond frustrated and told them to cancel all my services. He did so, but told me I still wouldn't get a refund.
I had to go through my bank and dispute the charges! Luckily, I had all the cancelations in email so I won the dispute. But, I shouldn't have had to dispute the charge to begin with. Do not use this company! They lie and don't care to make things correct.

So far this has been a great experience. The inspector showed up on time and did a thorough inspection of our property. He developed a very reasonable plan that took into consideration many aspects that we had not considered. When they tell you that they will come out quickly to dispose of your rodents in traps, that means 5-7 days. When they say they're in your area everyday, they're not. They won't even give a time frame as to what time of the day they can come. So I'm supposed to miss a whole day of work for this. But they already have my money and I literally have no other option because I don't want rats in my house.
The technicians that have come out have always been great. Very professional and nice guys. Hopefully the company treats their employees better than they treat their customers

Here's what they'll tell you. don't believe me, just call and find out! "one time visit". you unknowingly sign a contract. "neighborhood discount". they eventually charge you back for this. "termite infestation you must act immediately" ($2,000+).I had 2 other companies come out and said there's nothing to worry about. AGAIN.This is a scam! They have no real plan to fix anything at your house, just want your $$.

Brandon was very honest, through and friendly during my inspection and advised that after I made repairs (replacing wood on areas of gargae) I could contact them to treat my garage. I definitely will utilize their services once ready. Better experience than previous company used three years ago and I learned more about how termites affect properties.

The person that came to our home is named Bram. He is knowledgeable and responsive as well as good listener. He was curteous and he allowed us to take our time and go ever the history of our rodent problems. We've used Joshua's for Ants for many years. They are always on time, friendly, professional and extremely accommodating. I am so glad I switched all those years ago. When I called to get service for pesky mosquitos, they were able to add this to my regular service this very day! I can't say enough about them. DO NOT USE THIS SERVICE! The person who did our initial service poured pest control fluid on our windows; one of which was difficult to clean as it was hard to get to the spots. I gave him a good review before my wife spotted all the mess he made on our windows. I immediately cancelled any further service. I paid for the initial service but they keep billing me for additional work that is not being done even though we have no signed contract. I am getting harassed by their billing department, billing me for no services.

They promise you they will come out as a guarantee after the quarterly free of charge to fix any issues but they never honor that. They just push out to the next visit. Meanwhile your bug issue just gets worse and worse.
They lock you into an annual discount so you can't cancel their services. Based on our experience, you are just paying for someone to come by and squirt your house with water. I have at least 30 traps around the house and there are spiders in all of them after three visits from them. The last time a guy came he said he needed to kill the ants first and the spiders would eat themselves.
That was two months ago and the spiders are not eating themselves. They are producing in record numbers. Also spiders can survive 8 months without food. Are we supposed to wait 8 months for the spiders to eat themselves? We pay almost half a grand a year. This is unacceptable service from any provider.

This company LIES and does not use good business ethics. In June of 2021, a field rep from Joshua's was checking in on the neighborhood because the of their clients from the neighborhood had not been serviced in 2021. I was told by the service rep that I had called in to reschedule my appointment. The problem is, I work from home and don't have a need to call to reschedule, I'm always home.
I talked to my neighbors, they said they were told a similar story. I live in a neighborhood that most people are either retired or work from home. We would never call in to reschedule a pest control service. Lie number 2 came from a field service tech. He didn't do hardly any of his job. In his notes, (I only know what his notes said because the supervisor told me exactly what was in the notes) he said that spider webs were out of his reach.
The webs were on the deck railing, maybe 4 feet from the deck floor. I was told by the field service supervisor who ended up coming out to my house that I was given correct information about what his service tech wrote in his notes and he would take care of the situation. Lie number 3 was me calling in and telling Joshua's that I didn't feel it was necessary for me to pay a bill when I didn't get service for 6+ months.
They agreed to credit my bill for 4 billing periods. I told them that would be fine. Two months later, the bills start back up, 2 months ahead of when they should have. This company is will lie to you. They do not believe in business ethics. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH JOSHUA'S PEST CONTROL.

We would never call in to reschedule a pest control service. Lie number 2 came from a field service tech. He didn't do hardly any of his job. In his notes, (I only know what his notes said because the supervisor told me exactly what was in the notes) he said that spider webs were out of his reach.
The webs were on the deck railing, maybe 4 feet from the deck floor. I was told by the field service supervisor who ended up coming out to my house that I was given correct information about what his service tech wrote in his notes and he would take care of the situation. Lie number 3 was me calling in and telling Joshua's that I didn't feel it was necessary for me to pay a bill when I didn't get service for 6+ months.
They agreed to credit my bill for 4 billing periods. I told them that would be fine. Two months later, the bills start back up, 2 months ahead of when they should have. This company is will lie to you. They do not believe in business ethics. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH JOSHUA'S PEST CONTROL.

So many good things to say about Joshua's Pest Control! They spay our property on a quarterly basis and since they started (2 years ago) we haven't had any issues with bugs entering the house. They give me such peace of mind because I never have to set up the appointment, they do it automatically, arrive on time, and are extremely communicative. Not only is the spray service effective, but their customer service is excellent any each member of their team is efficient and knowledgeable. They are a joy to work with!

Update: Joshua's really has turned our service around. A manager called me, I discussed my concerns, and someone came out and treated much more thoroughly. We have seen very few pests since. While of course I wish we would have seen this sooner, I am happy that our home has very few bugs now, and I am impressed with how responsive the customer service was! The interactions I have had were very nice and professional and I now believe Joshua's does truly care about our home being safe!

I've been using Joshua's for several years. They have always been timely and communicated to ensure I was aware of when service would be conducted. Their service technicians have always done a great and thorough job in addition to being polite and knowledgeable. I have not seen any live pests in my house.which is the best outcome!

I really didn't have a problem with Joshua's until they came out to do my 1st "quarterly" session. I had called to schedule them a week or so later than the original day they scheduled. We discussed that payment would be made the Monday following the session, as that was when I got paid. They ran the payment the next day. I called and left a message before it cleared my bank to ask for them to stop the payment.
But then it went through and there was a NSF charge, which is there fault. Usually they call back within an hour if I leave a message during business hours, but I have called twice and emailed, still no response. And they comment stating they have left several messages and called numerous times, which is a lie!

This company sends their employees every single week to our neighborhood. Each employee knocks on our doors regardless- even with a "no soliciting" sign. They have ignored when the woman of the house says no to their pest services, and have gone so far as to request the "man of the house". Unprofessional and disrespectful are words that should be used for this company. Do not use them! A company should have integrity and respect if they want to grow.

I've had pest control for years but decided to switch to this new company. My previous company never spent the time and wasn't nearly as thorough as Joshuas! I'm super pleased with the explanation of the service from the person who knocked on my door and from the young man who performed the service. I highly recommend them!

This place seemed pretty good at first. they called back and was really polite went over pricing and set up an appointment to come to the house and take a look. i get a call the next day with the person to come over just to talk about what i had going on. very helpful! then i started to get txts pushing back the appointment and rescheduling which isn't a problem. after we rescheduled 3 times then the person never showed up or called and is no longer returning txts. unbelievable.

I was approached buy a door to door sales rep while cleaning out my garage. I very rarely do anything door to door but they did a great job! Everything the sales rep said happened and the service rep was very kind and professional. He even went above and beyond and cleaned the cobwebs out of my garage for me. I would definitely recommend this company!
