Almost all repairs we perform on fire places are caused by water damage including fire box repairs, dampers and gas jets rusted out, gas logs and glass doors damaged by rust and water.
Burned out joints and cracks are clear fire hazard and should be repaired with a "high temperature" furnace cement. This is the most common repair we provide. American Services is one of those rare completely honest family-owned businesses. I called American Services to perform a pest treatment, pest inspection, and chimney inspection. They sent Andy who did an extremely thorough job spraying and inspecting my house for every pest in North Texas from termites to fire ants to rats to moths. Andy also patched up my chimney and did an excellent job at that.
I spoke with Charlotte, one of the owners, who provided me excellent customer service and ensured I was 100% satisfied. If you are looking for extermination or chimney services in the Dallas area, look no further!

We used American Services for our non-functioning direct vent fireplace. They fit us in quickly. They addressed the few issues causing the problem as well as and helped educate me on how the direct vent fireplace worked. The owner, Russell, also was not going to charge us if he was unable to fix the problem. Excellent service. Will use again with any future fireplace issues.

I wasn't too sure about what to expect, but when I made the call to inquire about the procedure and price, the agent was so friendly and gave me all the details I needed to know. I was extremely pleased with the service I received! This is the first time I've been able to light the fireplace since I bought this home over 10 years ago! Thank you, American Services!

If I could give this company 0 stars I would. First off the owner Russell Weiss is a liar and a con man. Let me start off by saying that every single one of his employees have criminal records and are drug addicts and alcoholics and Russell does not pay to get them licensed by the state Texas Structural Pest Control Service as required by law. Why you ask?
Because he knows that if he sends in the necessary application fees for said individuals who will not pass the state requirements that they are not refundable and Russell is too cheap to pay for qualified licensed technicians. How do I know this you ask? First off I called the state and verified this via the state's website. NONE of his employees are licensed.
Two of them that I met that day admitted as much nor could they produce a pest control license to me. I have worked in the pest control field before in Texas and I know the requirements and the products primarily used. I have actually managed companies and held a Certified Applicators license, (the highest level license one can test for and obtain) for the state of Texas for 15 years.
I was visiting my mother's home, (an elderly lady) when two of Russell's employees showed up to her house and I met them at the van they were working out of and asked one of them what he was using and he produced a container of cheap pesticide (Ortho) all ready mixed that you buy at Home Depot and watched him open the seal off the container and pour it into his sprayer.
I then asked him if that was purchased at Home Depot and he said yes. I then asked him why he was using cheap product from Home Depot and not professional pesticides that require a license to obtain and mixing them himself. He then replied that it is what the owner, "Russell" makes him use as he pointed to the other empty containers of the cheap Ortho product that a regular person can buy at the hardware store.
Both of the men and the van they worked out of smelled of burning marijuana and one of them still had the smell of alcohol on his breathe from the night before or that morning. I told both of them that they were not going to come into my mother's home and try to perform any services at all especially without a license and not only is it immoral but illegal.
They then called Russell the owner of American Services and he showed up and then tried to smooth it over with me and I told him to leave and he stood and tried to argue with me and claimed that we owed him $125.00 + tax for a service call even though no services were ever performed and if I didn't pay him immediately that he would call the police for theft of services as well as sue me and put a judgement against my mother, to which I responded to him that he was out of his mind if he thinks I am going to be black mailed into paying him and to get off the property with his illegal employees before I call the police and have him removed.
Through my continued investigation of this man I have found out that the owner Russell Weiss and his business American Services are run out of his garage in the back of his home. He is not a legitimate business man in any way shape or form. Run from him like the plague. He is a rip off and preys upon the unknowing and the elderly and then when confronted tries to black mail you into paying him for nothing. As I stated previously. RUN, RUN, RUN, from him. He is a scam artist.

Very pleased with the service we received. The installation of the chimney cap was very quick and reasonably priced. After the installation, the owner Russell went above and beyond by showing us how to correctly use the fire place in the home we recently purchased. I would highly recommend their services!

I have bad experience with them. They came every 3 months to spray my house in and out for $129.99. and two weeks later, I discovered there were aunts in the house, I called them back, they wanted to charge another $299.99 for coming to spray, said this time they would use different chemical. What happened to warranty? just two weeks after their treatment?

Russell, the owner, came out to our property in Dallas and treated for pests. He was very thorough in his information and answered every question I had. His team was quick, clean, and did their job well. I haven't seen any critters since they came out last. I would highly recommend American Services to anyone looking for quality pest control or chimney services. We use these guys for both and are very satisfied customers.

I found these folk in the regular Yellow Pages one Sunday when there was a terrible racket in my chimney. SOMEthing was in there, and I didn't know what to do about it. Russell was the only person who answered the phone that Sunday morning. While there wasn't anything he could do about my problem, he did tell me how to try to deal with it myself.
He warned me that my efforts would probably be in vain (alas, they were), and offered moral support and the suggestion that we have a screen installed to keep this from happening again. As my husband and I just bought this house in December, we had no idea when the chimney had last been professionally cleaned and inspected. Getting this done was high on our pre-winter to-do list.
I called Russell's office the next day and made an appointment for chimney cleaning and inspection, and installation of the critter-proof screen he had suggested. Andrew came out early within the one-hour appointment window we were quoted. He was fast and friendly, and made absolutely no mess. I was concerned about my light beige carpet and white hearth, for no reason at all!
He answered our many questions and was informative and courteous. The chimney and fireplace were clean and the screen installed in less than an hour. I highly recommend American Services for your chimney cleaning and inspection needs. Give them a call!
