Termites only superficially resemble ants and their "white ant" name is probably due to their similar size and social habits of ants. Termites have biting mouthparts and their soft bodies are small, rarely over 10 mm in length. They typically inhabit dark nests and tunnels, only venturing out when the winged alates emerge to leave their parent colony, when constructing shelter.
Termites are insects that, due to their size, it is perhaps easy to underestimate, but it is all a mistake on our part. When they are installed in our home or workplace they can become a real odyssey. In this sense, home remedies that could alleviate the problem caused by its presence are usually ineffective.

I bought a house that had a termite inspection completed by these guys which was paid for by the seller of the house. They found termites and some exterior wood damage, and to obtain the termite clearance that was required by our lender, the prior owners paid over $4000 to have the fascia board replaced and painted, and also had the house fumigated (tented).
After Turbo replaced the wood, it was painted white which was the color of all the trim on the home. What resulted was the most horrible, sloppy paint job I have ever seen! They had white trim paint covering many parts of the house - some of it along the walkway leading up to the front door. I don't think these guys ever heard of the the term "masking tape" - because all they did was sloop paint around with a brush, and really didn't seem to care where it landed. Anyway, after trying to work through the prior owners who paid for this questionable service, nothing was ever done by these guys to fix the problem.
So I had to pay my own painters to come in and fix their mess. My recommendation: find another more professional company to do any needed termite repair. These guys don't seem to care what the job looks like when they're finished.

BEWARE! I just sold a home and these people did the termite inspection. Other than some dry rot on the exterior eves that needed to be repaired there was no evidence of temites. I have had no damage nor evidence of an infestation. After stating such, they went into my attic and said they found a "wing".evidence of "swarming termites" and that I needed to be tented.
As proof, the inspector handed me a small item from my attic. He claimed it was the body of a swarming termite without wings. ANY IDIOT could see and feel that it was a sliver of wood. After showing it to my agent and another professional exterminator as well as having both look in my attic, there was no reason for the tenting other than greed. I will never use again and will warn all I can. GO elsewhere!
