Seven species of bats live in Minnesota, all of them rather small. Four species (Little Brown Myotis, Northern Myotis, Big Brown Bat, and Eastern Pipistrelle) form colonies and can be found in groups in caves, hollow trees, and buildings. These animals typically feed over open fields, along woodland edges, or over lakes and streams.
So how do I bat Proof My home? I get asked this question all the time, "is bat proofing something that a homeowner can do." The answer is maybe. Can you work high up on a ladder? Do you have all the equipment to work safely on your roof? Most people aren't thorough enough to do the job, they will seal up where they see the bats coming and going but won't seal up the other two dozen spots that the bats are using.
Minnesota has many species of birds, and only a few will become a nuisance. Note from the US Fish & Wildlife Service: A Migratory Bird Depredation Permit authorizes certain management and control activities necessary to provide for human health and safety, protect personal property, or allow resolution of other injury to people or property.
Every year a honey bee hives naturally splits. This is where half of the hive and the existing Queen leave the hive and find a new home. They can go on tree branches or hang on other objects until they find a suitable place. Most of the time this will be in a tree or in a home. This is called a bee swarm.

Dan came out last year when we had a severe bat issue in our garage attic. The initial visit was $550 but he completely safely and effectively moved the bats, and his work was if he'd never been here. In spring of 2020 he returns for a $175 charge and makes sure that there are no cracks or holes for any wildlife to return ir enter our home. Its seems pricy at first, but he was the lowest bid and he is friendly, prompt, and professional.
We also had a muskrat show up under our deck in March of 2020. I called him to see what to do. He told us to simply keep the pups in the house overnight and it would leave. He did not charge for a service call or advice. I will always be calling Dan and his services and pay the small yearly fee to keep our home safe from wildlife. Hes great! HIGHLY RECOMMEND
