Jerry Luckner founded First Choice Pest Management in 1997, after spending more than a decade perfecting his approach to pest control and extermination. Today, First Choice remains family owned and operated and is among the best known pest management companies in Stark County. First Choice provides a comprehensive approach to pest control.
All of our technicians are certified thru the North American Bed Bug Training Center and also licensed by the Ohio Department of Agriculture, through which they have received extensive on-the-job training. Advantages of choosing the Heat Treatment are the minimal preparation and the fact that you can return to your routine living activity the very next day.
We use commercial grade steamers (240 degrees). We spend 4 to 8 hours steaming, then apply a chemical treatment as a crack and crevice treatment, drilling small holes in walls and precisionally applying dust with an electric duster. The customer is given Nuvan strips to be placed in sealed containers (or bags) at the time of the first treatment.
The best form of pest control is to prevent them in the first place. At First Choice we offer protection plans that treat your home for all types of pests throughout the year. Our regular treatments are designed to keep pests out, or at least catch infestations in their infancy. Our professionals can help you determine which plan is best for you, or customize treatment based on the season and your specific problem. If your referral enrolls in our Plan A protection plan, they receive a 10% discount on their first year of service.

I called First Choice, got an answering machine, and left a message. Jerry, the owner, called me back in less than 20 minutes. He was friendly, informative, and quoted me a price that was very reasonable. He said someone would call me the next morning to schedule a time to come out. The woman who called was pleasant, helpful, and was able to schedule an appointment only two days later.
On the day of my appointment, the technician, Robert, arrived on time and was extremely knowledgeable about the process and the target critters. He patiently explained where he was placing the bait boxes and why. It has only been 24 hours but so far, I have not seen any additional evidence of infestation. I am delighted that the problem appears to be solved so quickly and the 3-month guarantee gives me peace of mind that if the little creatures return in that time frame, a technician will also return. First Choice will DEFINITELY be my first choice in pest control, should I require this service again.

Jerry and his team are amazing and his services are very affordable! Compared to other companies, Jerry's services are nearly half the cost. Unfortunately, he no longer does payment plans but he will provide you with endless information to help you address your pest needs. First choice pest management will always be my first and only choice!

I am SO glad 1st Choice Pest Control was recommended to us! Their prices are extremely competitive, and I have been impressed by the high quality of service. Their yearly plan is a great deal - we've had a lot of spiders since we moved in, but it has drastically improved just with one treatment! We expect it to be even better with regular treatments.
I also appreciate 1st Choice's attention to detail - as they apply treatments, if they notice anything on the property that needs attention that is unrelated to pest control (like a bit of missing caulking in the basement or leaky pipes), they'll point it out and offer helpful advice on what to do. The quality of service and personal touch that 1st Choice offers is beyond compare!
