RVI produces and distributes insects and other organisms, supplies and tools for biological control of pests. We are pioneers in the use of natural enemies in ecologically based pest management. Biological control programs may include commercially available predators, parasites, pathogens and antagonists. We advise starting with biologically active soils that may get a boost from our line of inoculants. We have microbial and botanical pesticides when the natural enemies are a little too little or a little too late.

Kyra Ankenbruck drove from Fort Wayne, Indiana, the day after graduating from Purdue University to learn about growing beneficial insects.
Within each web page of the catalog the biocontrol organisms are generally grouped by the pest or one or two similar pests that the beneficials are most useful for. Within the page find organisms most of the time in alpha order by scientific name, with common name(s) and brief description in the left-hand column.
Use RVI's line of very fresh Aphidoletes that are effective at 1,000/acre when used proactively when aphids are low. Rincon-Vitova produces green lacewing, also called Aphid Lion, in life stages and packaging for every situation. The alligator shaped lacewing larva is the predatory stage that will eat all kinds of prey.

We bought 15,000 mites for our orchard. The mites arrived 1 day later than expected. The label did not mention live insects, so they sat outside in 95 degree heat, not knowing what was inside. No instructions were included. I opened and gently stirred each jar and found found about 12 mites between the 3 jars with a high power magnifying glass. My crop adviser contacted Rincon and they were unable to correct this problem and figured they did not need to send and instructions.
Low one star rating due to very poor customer service and inadequate product. Update (2 years later): I spoke with the owners. I think this may have been a one time screw-up. They seem to be sincere to improve their shipping communication and adhere to guarantee that all mites arrive alive. I suggest give them another try. upgraded to 4 star.

This place is a hidden gem! Finding a buisness that has beneficial Insects available to the public is not easy. While they do supply the major farmers and cultivators up and down the coast most people don't realize that they are open to the public. This isn't a type of store where you go shopping. I called and asked questions. They were incredibly helpful in making sure I ordered the correct beneficial Insects for my problems.
They will ship to you or you can pick it. Using beneficial Insects instead of pesticides makes a world of difference in the in the natural cycle of life in your garden or landscaping. It's really beneficial to all of natures creatures. It's not expensive in comparison at all. I highly recommend this company. There customer service is outstanding and they do nothing but naturally help the ecosystems around us. I'm very happy I found out they are open to the public.
