With over 57 years of pest control experience and two graduate entomologists on staff, Palmetto Exterminators is always searching for innovative ways to improve our customer service and satisfaction. We place emphasis on the education and training of our employees, with special attention given to providing first-rate pest control protection in an environmentally responsible manner.
Palmetto Exterminators, Inc. was established in 1960 in Walterboro, South Carolina. In 1976, the company was purchased by Albert and Lillian Snyder and has been in the Snyder family since that time. Albert "Bud" Snyder is a graduate of Penn State with degrees in Education and Entomology and has devoted his entire career to the pest control industry.
We developed a Quarterly Pest Control program that greatly reduces the need to routinely apply products to the interior of homes, especially when there are no specific interior pest problems. Once our exterminators complete the initial interior and exterior pest control treatment, our quarterly visits will focus on the exterior, providing first-rate monitoring and the use of innovative products to provide excellent residential pest control.
Palmetto Exterminators offers customized and comprehensive solutions for business and commercial properties. When it comes to commercial pest control, Palmetto Exterminators means business. We service a variety of industries including Retail, Lodging and Hospitality, Restaurant Services, Property Management, Manufacturing and Warehouse, Healthcare Facilities, Government, Education, Religious Groups, Airports, and more. Customer service from a dedicated pest control specialist provides a swift and discreet response when you need our help.

THEY HAVE NOT COME OUT I HAVE PAID THEM. I WAS TOLD IT WOULD BE A FEW WEEKS UNTIL THEY COME TO MY HOME. BUT THE RECEIPT FROM THE PAYMENT SHOWS SERVICE SET FOR THE DATE THAT I PAID? NOW I AM GETTING THIS REQUEST TO COMPLETE A REVIEW FOR A SERVICE THAT HAS BEEN PAID IN THE AMOUNT OF $154.00, BUT NO SERVICE RENDERED?

This is by far the best pest service I have experienced in the Lowcountry. They are always on time, have very competitive prices for their quality of service, and always take pride in their work. They stand by their work, the technicians are always friendly, and answer whatever questions we have. I would highly recommend their quarterly pest control service and termite treatment/damage agreement.

We decided to switch our termite bond from Terminix to Palmetto Exterminators, hoping for better service. Palmetto, despite our wishes, worked to a service contract that does not cover a bond (and in bad faith did not make that clear to us via their liaison personnel), and would not honor our request to work out a new contract for a termite bond. $1800 down the drain, thanks a lot.

My family recently moved to Charleston S.C. from MD. Termites were not a big deal in MD, so we were unfamiliar with treatment plans. From what we understood, it was customary and perhaps most cost effective to transfer the existing termite bond following an home purchase; however, we met with a couple different vendors prior to blindly agreeing to stay with the current service provider. Palmetto Exterminators came out and did a thorough evaluation of our property. Joel, our sales rep, knew transferring the bond was an option and he still spent an hour with us.
We liked the fact that Joel was very knowledgeable, personable and provided us with a clear approach. Following the visit from Palmetto, I called the current service provider to schedule a visit. I wanted to understand their treatment plan. I was told by their representative that they would keep the same service in place and that we should simply transfer the bond.
I reiterated that I was interested in having a tech come out because we moved from MD and were unfamiliar with termites. I was told they would come out to pick up a check. Obviously, this company was not the right fit. We decided to partner with Palmetto. Their team came out to do the 10-12 year treatment and it was apparent we made the right decision.
At one point we had 6 representatives from their organization all collaborating to complete the job. Later that evening, after the work was completed, we began to have an issue with one of our air conditioners. The units were old but the timing was suspicious. I called Joel and left him a message. I inquired if he had ever run into cutting a line or negatively impacting an HVAC unit during treatment.
He called back and said that he was unfamiliar with any cases that created issues but he asked me to keep him posted with the HVAC company's findings. Turns out that during treatment, one of their representatives moved our condensation line away from the house and propped it up in a branch to avoid diluting the chemical application. The condensation line backed up and triggered the safety switch which shut off the unit.
I called Joel and let him know the specifics. He asked me to email him the invoice. 5 days later we received a check in the mail that covered the entire amount - NO Questions Asked. Palmetto is a first class company. We are very happy with our decision. It is rare when I write a review, much less a glowing one.

Great bunch of people all around. getting on the calendar is never a chore, the people that come out to the house are respectful, kind and friendly. We haven't had an issue with bugs out of the normal few pests that come in and when we thought we had a real issue, they came out the following day. Highly recommend!

We have been a customer of Palmetto since purchasing our home in West Ashley 4 years ago. The quality of service has been consistently poor and our recent experience with them is unprofessional and quite frankly unacceptable. We have had to follow up several times to get service/inspection visits and even still, wait months more for the actual visit, only to have the tech show up hours late or not show at all.
After our most recent visit, the tech told my husband that "all was good" and then last week, over a month later, we receive a statement in the mail that they are "not renewing" our contract. Though no "active infestation" is noted, the letter states, in bold, "any damage caused by the infestation is excluded." How did we go from "all good" by the inspector to not renewing our contract? Shady much? NONE of the items described in the report, one of which - and I kid you not - is a bush that grows in our backyard - were discussed with either my husband or I.
I completely understand terms of a contract but when there is ZERO communication with the customer about items that "need to be resolved" and then a notice of non-renewal is sent with no warning, it reads shady and extremely unprofessional. Especially when notated items include a bush that grows in our back yard and a water drip from the condensate line of our brand new HVAC - literally the purpose of the condensate line. If you're looking for honest, professional, quality work, I would STEER CLEAR of Palmetto Exterminators.

Thanks for sending Eddie- he was super helpful with his advice- we are re-decking our deck and wanted to be sure our termite protection was top notch. Eddie came out and assessed the situation- said it would be best if he came back once all the post were in and treat things then. More time out of his schedule- but he wanted to do it right. Thank you!
