Termites are small, ant-like insects and off white in color. However, they differ from ants in that they feed off the cellulose in wood. Working largely unseen under the surface, they can tunnel through the wooden structural members in buildings and completely destroy them. Wood that comes in contact with the soil, such as the exterior trim or cladding on your home, provides a perfect point of entry for a termite colony. If the wood does not contact the soil, they can build mud tunnels or tubes to reach wood several feet above the ground.
Bed bugs range in size from1/4 to 5/8 inch. They are flat, oval, and reddish brown. They hide in cracks and crevices of a room including furniture, molding, outlets, and carpet edges. They generally stay as close to the host as possible. They have piercing mouthparts to draw blood for food. Bed bug females lay about 200 eggs which hatch in about 1 to 2 weeks.

These wasps are very aggressive and will nest in many places, underground, hollow trees, in wall voids, attics, behind siding. They are very aggressive and if provoked they will sting multiple times. Stings are painful and for allergic individuals stings can be life threatening. Constructs a nest in the shape of an upside down umbrella.

Optimum Pest Control provided great customer service. I had a problem with carpenter ants in my house and the tech that was sent over was friendly and knowledgeable. He knew exactly where to spray and where not to spray. He took my concerns into consideration and answered any questions I might have had on why he might be spraying in one area versus another. Overall great company with reasonable prices.

What a great experience! (I'm writing this on behalf of my friend Holly DeDentro) Holly was so impressed how quickly after making her call, Tom came to her house. Tom was so considerate before starting, he closed all the windows. We had a wonderful 4th of July with NO Mosquitos! Everyone at the BBQ was impressed, no mosquito bites. They asked Holly what she did and she said "I had Tom from Optimum come to spray". What a difference this made at our BBQ. I gladly recommend Tom at Optimum Pest Control! Tom has been providing us with effective exterminating services for almost 2 years. We continue using his services because he is always professional, reliable, and on-time. Additionally, he clearly explains his diagnosis, proposed treatment, and rates, which are very reasonable in comparison to other exterminating companies we've used in the past.
A very recent example of Tom's reliability and response rate occurred just this past week. My wife & I just moved back home after being displaced from Hurricane Sandy, and gladly signed a new exterminating contract with Tom last weekend. and not a moment too soon. While our home was undergoing remaining repairs this week, our contractor identified carpenter ants, and I immediately called Tom to request his help as soon as possible.
Although Tom's schedule was tight, he still made the time to get over to my house immediately while the contractor kept the area exposed for Tom to treat the ant problem. Repairing our home after Hurricane Sandy has often been difficult, however, it's been very reassuring working with professionals, such as Tom, who can be counted on when needed to provide exceptional service for their customers. I had a problem with pavement ants, I had a swam by my window in the dining room. I called Tom at Optimum on a recommendation from a friend and left a message, he called me back within 5 to 10 minutes after leaving my message. Tom said he would call when he was on his way, he did, he came and took care of the problem. Tom told me what to expect over the next week or two and he was dead on with his information. He was courteous, professional and explained all of the steps he had taken to eliminate the ants. I would highly recommend Optimum Pest Control.

We had some swarming insects in our kitchen and bathrooms that we could not get rid of, let alone identify. My wife had enough and called Optimum Termite and Pest Control.
