This post is a bit dated, but I had a very positive experience with Mike Nolan. I had a persistent ant hill with ants like a science fiction movie all over the side of my property. I was given a referral for Mike Nolan at Home Defenders, and he came by and told me a straight story. He believed he could get rid of the ants but would come back. He may have come back for other reasons but HE GOT RID OF THE ANTS AND THEY NEVER CAME BACK. Its been 2 Years! And the fact that he is sensitive to the larger animalals when treating is so wonderful.

Not too impressed. They charged $350 for an initial service (too much) and spiders were evident shortly afterwards, so not very effective. They wanted to charge $1000 to plug up a few holes in or near the house foundation where mice or other critters might be able to get in. These were easily fixed with some steel wool and caulk.

Looking for a good pest company up in Big Bear proved to be challenging. We came across Home Defenders. Very professional from start to finish! We had the owner, Mike come out on a moth infestation with some other of their friends. He was courteous, polite, didn't try and up sell us. Plainly told us what to expect and what they would do, I highly recommend them! There call backs from the office and their follow through is excellent!

My biggest issue with any company is when the only reason they state what I should hire them is because everyone else is not good. Bashing anyone does not look good for you and having no explanation of why you are more than double the cost with no warranty is bad business. I would avoid these scammers.

Warning, avoid this company at all cost! So unprofessional! Serviced our home for over 10 years. Sold the house and they did the inspection report for buyer. Said we had mold and termites. Why was this never mentioned before? When asked they said the quarterly spray was a different division of the company. even though a technician is in and around and under our house every three months was not their area of expertise.
I say BS! This company is self serving and over priced! Too small of a mountain to take advantage of homeowners. words out! The realtors on the mountain need to stop using them, disservice to their buyers and sellers.
