I had Antique Termite out for an initial termite inspection, and then to re-inspect after the seller fixed the initial problems. Both times they were here before I was, did a complete walk-through and explained the severity of the issues to me. As a first time buyer it was a real pleasure to have that much detail and context about what the report really means to me.

Keeping the tradition of giving credit when due, we decided to share our recent experience with Antique Termite who had been a referral from our realtor. We contacted them when we found some mud tunnels forming on the front of our porch recently. After receiving a friendly hello from Kay when we called, she quickly fixed an appointment for us within the week.
After checking the house, the inspector Luis sent a report as well as the recommended treatment plan shortly after. What really impressed us was when the treatment specialist, Oli came to start work. He arrived slightly earlier than the scheduled time of 930am. He was friendly and patient as he went through the items he would be working on that day.
After realising that he had quite a bit to cover, he started working right-away, even skipping his lunch just to finish the work in a timely manner. We noticed Oli was very thorough in his work, cleaning up as he finished them in a methodical manner, both outside the structure as well as inside the crawlspace. The areas where he had to drill and pump in the chemicals were all very nicely patched up and barely noticeable.
At the end he even shared some tips on what to look out for, eg. keeping mulch level away from the vents. Ask for Oli and Luis if you decide to give this company a try. I would definitely recommend them to my friends.

We have been wanting to put in this review for a year but have been procrastinating. So here it goes. We worked with them a year back to remodel both our bathrooms. They were very professional right from the start to the end. Their job was very thorough, and at the end of the day they would clean everything up. They were very patient with the delivery of materials.
Most importantly, their communication was very clear which made the whole process very smooth. Delays are inevitable in this kind of a job especially when done with city permits, but they kept us informed about the process all along which didn't make the delay look too bad. Their commitment to quality is amazing. If we point something doesn't look okay, they would explain very well and even fix it so that the job looks professional and importantly the customer is happy.
What makes them a 5/5 is that even after a year when we called them to check on the toilet seat adjustment, they stopped by the next business day to check on it and fix it then and there at no additional cost. We really like their professionalism and their communication. Also, their patience is outstanding especially if you are someone who is not just hands off, but wants to know more about what they are doing as part of the job. We are looking forward to working with them on all our future jobs, and hopefully this recommendation helps more folks like us to work with them.

I found them based on a high recommendation from my realtor, and after working with them I would agree -- these guys are the best. Aron was on time, professional, respectful, and thorough. Was able to inspect the house and offer valuable insight. Would definitely recommend and do business with again.

I am a realtor specializing in the Santa Cruz Mountains where pest inspections are an essential part of the home-buying process. Real estate transactions often involve a lot of pressure to get various inspections done quickly and thoroughly. I need a Pest Inspection company I can count on. Antique Termite comes through for me EVERY time. Both Luis & Aaron are timely, courteous and knowledgeable inspectors, noticing issues that other companies miss. The owner Mike is great at follow-up. The schedulers Kathy & Trevor always try their best to accomodate my schedule. I highly recommend this company.

I am a Realtor, and Antique was recommended to me by another agent who said they are the only company she will use after 25 years selling homes. Their inspections are excellent, very thorough, and accurate. I had one case where a different company came out and give wrong information. Antique's report was accurate and their prices for repair very reasonable.
I wonder if the management has changed, since many of the poor reviews were from 2013 and before that I see. I have only used Antique for the last 3 years and I have been very happy with their service. Thanks, Antique. I will be back!

Regrettably I used Antique Termite because my realtor referred me. The reason I'd discourage anyone from using them is the woodworking repair their crew did was A-W-F-U-L! Nail holes punched willy-nilly, un-level beams, they threw their trash pieces in my yard bushes. Stay away from this company. You have been warned.

We hired Antique Termite to fumigate, repair a bit of termite damage and perform a few other tasks on our new house. Items 1 & 2 went off without a hitch. Unfortunately, Antique Termite really dropped the ball with the non termite-related tasks. While demolishing an old sunroom, they broke the kitchen window. -1 star but sometimes these things happen. Antique Termite loses two additional stars due to (1) the laziness of the foreman, Luis, (not sure he ever visited the property), (2) the foreman's insistence that tasks were completed when they were not, (3) failure to meet promised deadlines, and (4) doing the "bare minimum" rather than getting the "finishing touches" right (i.e., a used 7-11 cup left in the house, rubbish left in the yard, not all construction debris picked up).
Unfortunately I really had to hassle them to get the job "near complete" and in the end I just finished a few things myself. Given that the billing person did not object when I kept asking her to reissue the invoice, I suspect this is quite common. Finally, I have to remove one more star because my wife made the mistake of tipping the laborers in the middle of the job (DON'T DO THIS) as they seemed to be working hard on a rather hot day, which they apparently took as a suggestion to start slacking off (resulting in item (4), above). For the money there are far more diligent contractors (or even day laborers).

Antique Termite did my entire remodel after I found out they offered general contractor services once my termite inspection was complete. On the construction side of the business I worked with Mike Vega. Mike was phenomenal! He made the project a breeze. Completely took care of every detail, all I needed to do was select types of: tile, carpet, millwork design and paint colors. All of their subcontractors were clean, jovial, a fair price wise. All in all I would highly recommend their services. From top to bottom great outfit!

I have a few complaints to make, but let me get the positive things out of the way first. It was easy to reach them when we had issues with work they did, and they were very responsive sending people out to fix the things we had issues with. Fixing their mistakes didn't cost us anything extra, so that was nice. They were also willing to do a little extra contracting work without extra cost as well (moving the 220 outlet, including replacing knob-and-tube wiring, in the laundry room they rebuilt). However, when it comes to the work they did, we were disappointed.
We have a 1930s house, and the previous owner left the place in pretty bad shape with sub-termites and fungal issues. We hired Antique as they had a better rating on here than the other company we looked at (Abel). They did the repairs, and it passed inspection. But they didn't seem at all to care about matching the design and style of the house.
The stucco they used doesn't match our existing stucco. They replaced a window but didn't use any frame, so it sticks out of place. They removed roof tile only to tell us later that they wouldn't do it themselves and we had to hire a roofer at additional cost (they claimed they told us, but neither of us remember them saying anything about it).
All in all, the work was fine, but they seem to lack an attention to detail that would earn them more than 3 stars for me. Also they charge 2% on credit card payment. Keep that in mind.

JUST AWFUL. They were hired to complete fungus and termite repair of the bathroom and I would never recommend that anyone hire them. They lack integrity, professionalism and quality work. Worst off all, they "completed" the work the day before Thanksgiving and left my home in shambles! 1. They did not have the courtesy to flush the toilet after using it and left a bowel movement in the toilet (see uploaded photo). 2.
The newly installed base boards do not even cover the previously replaced base boards, so there is partially removed paint and sheetrock exposed above all of the baseboards (see uploaded photos). I can't imagine anyone that would want their baseboards to look like this. 3. The tub was heavily soiled and scratched. After two deep cleaning treatments, the tub remains scratch and soiled (see uploaded photo).
The tub probably has to be refinished now. 4. The carpet near the bathroom entry is ingrained with dirt and some sticky substance, which has resulted in dark spots and matting of the carpet. 5. A thick layer of dirt and dust covered all my home furnishings. I have spent over four hours attempting to clean up the mess made by these contractors, to little avail.
I will have to hire a professional cleaner to assist me in the nightmare of dirt and debris left behind. What ever happened to tarps that cover furniture? All of the previous contractors I have used always covered my furniture, tv, etc. 6. I found two french fries on my couch. It would appear that one of the workers was having lunch on my couch and left behind the two oily fries. 7.
My bathroom cabinet was disassembled and not reassemble. 8. I found pieces of sheetrock in my bedroom. Given that the work was confined solely to the bathroom, I am unclear as to why the contractors entered my bedroom. Creepy. 9. The wall near the toilet appears to be incomplete as the spackled areas were not sanded and does not match the rest of the bathroom (see uploaded photos).
Clearly they do not care about the basic qualities of workmanship. Finally, although they are licensed general contractors, they are only bonded for $12.5k, the minimum mandated amount.

Antique Termite will definitely be my goto company for pest control. The service they provided was nothing but the best. They pointed out everything that was wrong with the house and told me what actually had to be done. They are very good about checking for everything and tell you the absolute truth. Mike made sure that I understood what I was getting into and what the problems were. Make sure to ask for Mike if you are ever to go through Antique Termite. He will treat you with respect and tell you all things that are wrong honestly.

I can't recommend these guys. He was unprofessional and his demeanor was too casual for me. He went into the moist crawl space and tracked mud throughout the house. Several other people I have worked with use booties or lay down cloth to cover their tracks through the house. He missed a leak that a different inspector noticed. He gave an open ended quote (ridiculously high) to repair some dry root.
When he left, I had no faith in his estimates and felt like he was solely interested in getting as much money out of me as possible. One positive, he did catch a few more items that the termite/pest inspector the owner used before putting the house on the market. My realtor recommended them which I think is more of the you scratch my back, I'll scratch yours.

I can't say much about their work because I didn't end up having any work done with them, but some of their staff (in particular, one older gentleman--I forgot his name) is seriously rude and impatient and that speaks poorly for the business if they can't treat people with some basic courtesy and respect. I will definitely take my business elsewhere, thank you very much.

We contracted with Antique Termite for a full fumigation of my house in Mountain View. After the tent and fumigation process I went back to the house and noticed that Antique Termite or whomever they subcontracted to repair the wood exterior of the house did not even clean up after they were done. I had to remove all the plastic they cut out, and look for the many nails they just left everywhere they worked.
You can see the pictures. After complaining and showing them the result, Antique Termite has given me an answer that I am not completely happy about. What Antique said is that they know they did not do the job correctly, and would have been happy to return to make it right. Of course I already had to clean their mess because I have a kid playing around the house and could not wait for the to agree and come back clean their work!
They are not willing to do any type of credit, because they already offered a discounted price on the work (over the bid from Preferred Termite). Based on my experience I will not recommend them at all.

So far, so good. Had the garage inspected when signs of termites found. Luis surveyed the garage and house and emailed a comprehensive report and suggestions. Steve handled the actual abatement job and was friendly, prompt and helpful. Even helped us move some shelves and work benches, then put the back against the walls. We're impressed so far.if the termites don't make a comeback!

Aaron from Antique Termite was excellent. He performed a very thorough pest inspection checking every aspect of the house, which took just over 2 hours. I was very happy with the customer service and explanations that Aaron provided as I followed him around the house. I asked a lot of questions and he provided good answers to each one. My realtor recommend him, and after checking/comparing the yelp reviews of other companies I decide to go with him.
There was another termite inspection on file performed just over six months when the sellers originally put up the house for sale. Unfortunately, the other company with a lower yelp rating did not find everything but maybe that is the type of report they do for a "seller". Aaron's report appeared more detailed in the write-up finding several additional section 1 and section 2 items not found on the original termite report.
I do not believe he accessed the other companies report prior to the house inspection. The price of the report was a bit more expensive than average at $250 but it appeared also more comprehensive. I am only giving them 4 of 5 stars as I wished there was photos included in the report. It saves me getting into the crawl space myself and checking things out. "A picture says a thousand words!"

Antique Termite came when we sold our house as the buyers inspector. They came and were fairly cautious and careful as far as the trades go. They did as they said. This is a seedy industry (once a termite company does your inspection - you have to get them to sign off on the repairs - almost like extortion) so I think I would call them again because they seem very honest.
Three small complaints 1) They fixed out Patio Joists and when they nailed the 2X2s back in - they the nails went in the wrong places on a few and they are showing 2) They charged $150 to dig out a little peice of wood with dry rot (1 inch long) and fill it with wood fill. They got the wood fill on the slate tile and the door frame that they could have cleaned 3) My wife said they talked loudly and too much Compliments 1) They carefully fixed our Patio and replaced the Wisteria and Rose vines with very little Damage 2) They nicely caulked the work we had done on some exposed rafters. Much nicer than our painter had done.
