Did you know that bed bugs love to stay in your couch? Bed bugs can latch onto any type of upholstery or piece of furniture. I had no idea the technician was arriving today. I like it better when the company contacts me first so I can arrange for inside spraying. I like the old customer service better. Plus, I like to see the technician at my residence, rather than just getting a notice that someone had been there. There's no accountability this way. Also, I notice the review comes up with all 5 stars checked automatically. You should allow customers to choose their own ratings.

Contacted for rodent inspection. The technician, James, was very professional, personable and educational. I'm generally pretty suspicious when in comes to "needed services" on my home, but James explained everything as he took me through his inspection and what to expect going forward. He was truly educating me as we went along. The thing that really stuck out to me was him saying "don't just take my word, you should google what I'm telling you.
After his inspection and sealing exterior entry ways any interior travel paths, he gave me his recommendations without pressuring me to make a decision. In addition I had another technician, Derrick, came to do my initial pest and insect service. Just as James was professional, informative and educational, so was Derrick. Spending a 35 years in the service industry, I can say that your technicians are not only well trained, but go above and beyond to make sure customers are informed and comfortable with the services that are being provided. I don't even know where to begin as we have an ever growing log of complaints with this company that are never followed up on. This company did a bed bug inspection for us 3 months ago and recommended 3 treatments to be "bed bug free." We are now on treatment 9 and still have bed bugs! Furthermore, they've incorrectly declared us "bed bug free" 3 times along the way.
We have 3 small children and we've had to move out and back into our home so many times. it's been an absolute nightmare. In hindsight, I would have gladly paid significantly more money for a company that is trustworthy and reliable. Affordable Pest Control is not worth the headache.

I wanted to write an amazing review. We've used this company for 2 years-one for rodents as an annual subscription and our latest for bed bugs. The actual exterminators are incredible-kind, courteous, informative, timely. Our challenge has been with administration. We can't get fast help, there's no emergency response (even after we've paid over $1,000 for 6 months of continual treatment, no one has responded to us in 5 days after multiple attempts).
I think in the end we wish we would have chosen another company and will now seek a refund because the follow through is not what was promised and paid for. We were cleared 2x that it was safe to move in, there were no bed bugs left and found some on our own.

Due to a raccoon in my attic, I hired Affordable Pest to close the access point and replace all insulation in my attic, then paid promptly for the service. A subsequent issue required another firm to go up into my attic, where it was discovered that only half the insulation was removed and replaced. In addition, a close up photo indicated Affordable Pest's shoddy work in closing the access point.
After calling Affordable Pest, it took almost a week for my call to be returned. The manager, Barry, came to our home and agreed to complete the insulation work and give us a $1000 refund so that we could have the roof access point repaired by a professional. That was March 5, 2022. They did complete the insulation work but as of May 20 have not given me the refund and do not return any of my calls, emails or texts. I would never recommend their services. If possible, I'll provide an update if I receive the refund.
After calling Affordable Pest, it took almost a week for my call to be returned. They were more concerned with taking my deposit and having me sign a contract for bird removal at my home than actually sending someone to actually perform the service. Actually, I ended up not using this service since my bees are not yellow jackets but honey bees, according to Will Mills! He was here before he was supposed to be here (wonderful) and gave me the scoop of my critters. He also advised me to get in touch with local bee keepers since bees are a protected species, and I am glad to do that. Will was wonderful, polite, informative, and patient, even with my daughter's dog who was protecting the dwelling. Great job, Will, and thank you!

Critical: Professionalism, Punctuality, Responsiveness After completing the form to request an inspection, a representative responded quickly to schedule the appointment. The representative confirmed a technician would arrive the next day within a certain time frame. However, the technician did not show up and there was no communication about not coming or rescheduling.

We satisfied with service itself. However, what comes after is unexpected and really frustrating. They put us in a contract without our permission or notice (they did not explain anything explicitly about contract, we were not aware of any contract), we did call them and report this issue as soon as we notice the additional charge, it would be fine if they would work with us to resolve this issue.
What really frustrating is that, it is hard to move forward. Can't really talk to whoever in charge of that, and they are not responsive to your problem (and they don't transfer me to anyone else). They continue to come to perform service WITHOUT prior notice or confirmation from us. If you do want to use this service because it might offer a slightly better price, please be very careful about all the information and ask them everything you have question about. I would recommend go with someone else in case you need to go through this.

The technicians were polite and did a good job. The office staff is a very different story. they double bill you, bill when no service was rendered and charge late fees when no lateness has occurred. it is very difficult to cancel the service, I have snail mailed, email, called yet they still show up. The only way we got out of being spammed and harassed was when we moved.
Use extreme caution when using this service until they replace the office staff and whatever you do don't give them your credit card information! Sad, if not for the horrible billing practices they would have gotten five stars.

I would give zero stars if I could. Affordable Pest charged my credit card yesterday with absolutely no notice of an appointment - and this is AFTER I cancelled the service with them. They broke into my fenced-in yard as well. No one has called me back regarding a refund, and no one has returned my texts or emails about this. I've literally cancelled this company months ago and they are still charging me - and getting into my property without notice/permission which is ILLEGAL.

Worst Service Experience! Terrible Customer Service Technicans have no idea what they are doing and the customer service is even worse! There is NO communication between tech and office. Tech arrived with no clue of what he was exterminating for.totally unprofessional. Management does not care! Never ever use Affordable Pest EVER! I've had a service contract w them for my property for the past 3 years. They have cancelled the last 3 appointments in a row! They have also had a technician named, Daniel who showed up at the house that told us that he, "could not enter the building, because he did not have proper booties to put on over his boots".
He was at our place at 9AM! Who is not prepared for work- especially being the first appt of the day! The problem is that they are probably underpaying and under training their technicians (based on the fact that their technicians are asking for "side" jobs). I have never ever dealt with such incompetent scheduling staff (Betty/ Lenore) or have had technicians forget to check the outside of the property or forget to go inside of the property. NEVER USE THIS COMPANY

I only have positive recommendations for affordable pest. I appreciate the work and attention from each technician who arrived at my house, very responsible and professionals for each job done. Carpentry work to fix all the possible squirrel entrances in the attic and inside the walls, and solved mice problem in the laundry room, new insulation in the attic and garage, with this, the benefits were reflected in the electricity bill, which was reduced 60 to 70 % monthly, termites treatment to ensure never return to damage the wood and always respecting my requirements don't harm the wildlife and ecosystem with the chemicals used.
The management answered my emergency call when I hear strong noise between the walls, when a squirrel was trying to get out, the inspections, excellent work on time and reasonable prices. I really recommend affordable pest for a better life.

We use them before without a problem but this second time around my husband scheduled appointment and representative came out and give us a quote and up sold us on some other product and services. However the work we call for to clean out an exhaust that had a bird and put a new cap on to prevent birds from going inside never was done. Both times the technician was a no show and the manager did not bother to apologize or reschedule the appointment. Very unprofessional and very poor customer service. I don't recommend using them.

Price was right and work was performed in the time they promised. They real problem they have is communication and scheduling. It's impossible to get someone on the phone who can actually help you. They constantly reschedule and once you're able to agree on a service date, they will text you confirming different dates and/or times. Additionally, techs will show up not knowing what the job is about.
It feels like a lot of improvisation happens all throughout this operation. I may cancel my agreement because the entire experience is just frustrating and it's impossible to get a hold of a manager to discuss.

We had a minor pest control problem. A fast-talking sales-person showed up at the appointed time and explained the root cause of the problem. He then went on to quickly prepare a contract and asked us to sign it with our credit card details without informing explicitly that the contract was for a year. He said that his colleague would come to fix the problem the next day.
He did come but failed to remedy the issue and problem persisted until I worked on it myself. While the starting value of the contract was $249, our credit card was charged $299. They refunded the difference once I told them that they were supposed to charge $249. The bottom line: Affordable Pest does shoddy work and its sale people are only looking for new customers to maximize its income. I would not recommend its services to anyone. And if you do hire them, please read the fine print of contract

TL;DR: I live in Washington, DC -- PLEASE SAVE YOURSELF AND DONT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY. Affordable Pest is a HORRIBLE COMPANY! I am not a person who leaves reviews, but I felt highly led to write this one. I'm a 24-year old responsible renter in Washington, DC who lives in a two-story town home. Affordable Pest is a HORRIBLE COMPANY. The technicians are great people, but the management is an absolute headache and sketchy.
I had a mouse issue which was promptly solved when LL plugged entry holes. A fast-talking initial inspector came to the house and sweet-talked me into paying $375 for protection of the home and check-up visits. This part was perfectly reasonable. What he did NOT explain is that I had signed a year-long minimum contract (with a $250 early termination fee). So, I was locked in to paying $150 quarterly for technician to show up RANDOMLY WITHOUT SCHEDULED APPOINTMENT.
All of my scheduled appointments with this company were cancelled and rescheduled and then those times were not kept. Mind you, the technicians are great -- this is the management's fault. Regarding management, they are in a ""back-office" and are not available for calling. You will receive a front-desk person with no ability to do anything -- they will simply note your call to their supervisor.
This resulted in three mice being left in a trap for a 1 week+ -- they smell was horrid and moved outside. I had to dispose of it myself as the appointment for removing them was cancelled and never rescheduled. The initial inspections covered by the $375 were never held and received no apology or acknowledgment from management. This company is an absolute sham.
They do not keep files just iPhone pictures of paper. DO NOT SIGN ANYTHING FROM THEM WITHOUT IT BEING FULLY EXPLAINED AND REVIEWED. So my total cost for catching 4 mice totaled $375 + $150 + $250 early termination fee. That's $775. 0 Stars if I could. I arranged for an inspection for removal of mud daubers and general ongoing pest control. They gave me a time window of 9-12. 12:15 I called their office and was told an office manager would get back to me. 1:20 I called their office and was again told an office manager would get back to me and that it was marked "urgent". 1:37 I received a call from someone who I believe was a technician, and was told, sight unseen, that removal would be $375.
I told the person on the phone that I had been waiting all day and wanted someone to actually inspect. He told me he would call the office - then called me back and told me someone could be out the next day 1-4. The fact that no one tried to reach out to me from the office, no one seemed to know what was going on, and no one had any solution other than "wait till tomorrow" (why would I when they would likely do the same thing?) is absolutely unacceptable.

Affordable Pest control was great and expert in their field compared to the "big names", up to date techniques, approach and equipments in eliminating pest. Noelle was super friendly and professional over the phone. Charles was super nice and on time for appointment. He explained everything in detail and answered my (many!) questions. The price was competitive, and they worked with my schedule. Definitely recommended to all!

I agree with all the negative comments about scheduling with this company. On multiple occasions they failed to show up at all. I was given a window for insulation installation on a morning between 8-11. I called a little before 9 and was told they would be here at 9:30. They didn't show until almost noon, and apparently the office knew they would be late, but had someone tell me 9:30 anyway. It's been almost two weeks that I've been waiting to speak to a manger about this.
I call repeatedly, but no one ever seems to be in the office. Brett gave me his card and said to call anytime. I've called and texted him multiple times, but never receive a response. I wanted to go with a local company, but now I regret picking this company. Fairfax Station, VA

Affordable pest is the best! We had raccoon and mice in our attic, and affordable completely took care of the issue. The quality of their service is amazing, and They go above and beyond to treat the issue and prevent it from happening in the future. Out of all the quotes we received their price was the most fair. I would highly recommend their carpentry and insulation service.

I had Brett Seace come out to give me an estimate on having quarterly pest control. I was told it would cost $550 for the initial and my entire outside and inside would be treated. I was told in order to schedule an appointment I would have to sign a contract. The company never called me to schedule. I called the company to schedule the appointment.
I had a tech call me to tell me he was at my house on an unscheduled day. No one was home to let him in so the appointment was rescheduled. The tech came out to do the initial inspection the next day however the tech did not have the ladder tall enough to reach the second level of my home. He arrived at 10:20 am and was done at 11 am. There is no way he treated the entire outside of the house, decks, patios, etc. in that short time.
I have cameras and did not see him on the cameras doing the work he "claimed" to have done. I have had other pest companies in the past, and the treatment to the outside of the house was very extensive. I only wanted to change companies because most companies cannot reach the second level of my home due to the height.

We made contact with this company two weeks ago. We were told a specific time to be available at the home for an inspection and estimate. We waited and waited and then a phone call from a technician providing an estimate over the phone was provided. (First red flag) Then we were given a time and date of service my husband waited and waited.no one showed up. (Second red flag) Then when my husband called and questioned when someone was coming they simply stated they couldn't provide a window of time. Lastly a voicemail and text was sent yesterday at 7:03 AM to my husband stating that they would be at our house today, May 18.
When I called this morning to question this I was told Noelle would call me back at 8 AM. It is now 10:13 AM and I've had to call back and was told our appointment was canceled after another confirmation email was sent at 7 AM TODAY! The bad part is they also take your credit card info UPFRONT! When asked to remove our credit card information I was then told that's above my authority. BEWARE OF THIS COMPANY! Their greeting states as you call SERVICE YOU CAN TRUST GUARENTEED! What an untruth!

This is literally a terrible company. Defensive phone operators, horrible customer service. Lacking in basic communication and people skills. We were concerned we may have bed bugs after our daughter woke up with bites one morning. We scheduled Affordable Pest to come out and do a free inspection and when they arrived the did a visual inspection of the nursery as well as the master bedroom. When they looked at the base of the box spring in the master bedroom they found what appeared to be bed bug exoskeletons.
This was surprising as the suspected bed bug activity had only happened a couple of days before and was in the nursery. My wife and I had never been bit and to have exoskeletons in the master bedroom would suggest a well established infestation. I asked about possible treatments and they said they would only treat those two rooms. They didn't even bother to do an inspection of the downstairs or other areas of the house and assured me that a limited treatment (only spraying some furniture and the baseboards) would be sufficient to clear up an infestation.
This is contrary to what every source available suggests on how to eliminate bedbugs, which are notoriously difficult to kill. They didn't even confirm that other rooms did not have bedbugs before suggesting treatment. The next day I had a trained bed bug detecting K9 come do an inspection of the house. The K9 did not detect a single bed bug and the handler said that we did not have an infestation.
I find it odd that Affordable Pest found exoskeletons, swore I had an infestation and needed treatment, and yet a trained bed bug K9 could not find a single bug. Be wary of Affordable Pest's free inspection.
